Our story
VeritaBalm was born from a childhood fascination with nature’s restorative powers. As a child, I experienced the undeniable properties of the common plantain (Plantago major) herb and developed a deep appreciation for the humble broadleaf plant. Whenever we had bug bites, deep scrapes, or stubborn boils, plantain was always the trusted herb that brought quick relief.
Seeing those properties work in real life sparked a lifelong passion and opened my eyes to a much bigger truth: this power isn't just limited to the plantain plant. Nature's wonders are all around us and right within our reach.
I started VeritaBalm to share this abundant, honest care with the world. At VeritaBalm, we take the time-tested wisdom of everyday greenery and craft it into traditional, handmade salves that you can always trust. Every jar we make honors those childhood roots and carries the pure, soothing strength of the earth.
The process
Our botanicals are slowly infused in olive or avocado oil for 4 to 6 weeks, allowing time to draw out the character of each plant before blending into rich, skin-loving salves.
Botanicals are selected whole and dried carefully, so no moisture is carried into the oil.
Plants rest in olive or avocado oil for four to six weeks, turned by hand, kept away from light.
The oil is strained slowly through cloth and left to settle before anything else is added.
Blended cool with gently melted wax and shea and sal butter, then packed into amber glass straight away.
The botanical library
Myrrh, frankincense, plantain, patchouli, chamomile, pine needles, geranium, clover, Prunella Vulgaris, vitamin E, castor oil, olive oil, and avocado oil. Each one is chosen for its aromatic and cosmetic properties and for its place in long-standing herbal traditions.
Packaging
Light is unkind to an infused oil. Amber glass filters much of it, which is why every VeritaBalm salve is poured into a brown glass jar with a lined lid rather than clear glass or plastic. It is heavier to ship and costlier to buy, and it is worth both.

The batch letter
A short note when a batch is ready, a botanical is in season, or a blend returns. No more than once a month.
